Psalm 31- The LORD IS My Fortress!
In this Psalm, which may well have been on Jesus’ mind, whilst going through His trials (based on His quotation of Ps.31:5 in Lk.23:46), we get the impression that David and his men are besieged within a city, surrounded by enemy troops, and with possible insurrection among the men of his own army. By the way, the phrase, “Into your hands I commit my spirit” has been quoted as used at the point of death of the likes of Luther, Knox, and Hus.
This would be a very powerful Psalm to remember and quote from if you are going through various trials and feel as if attacks are coming from within and surrounding you.
