Matthew 26 Pt..8 – Gethsemane!

What happened in the Garden of Gethsemane? We see the two natures of Jesus compared: His full humanity, and His full deity! On the one hand Jesus KNEW what would befall Him over the next few hours and He could face it, but on the other hand we see Him in His humanity, looking for the support of three of His closest disciples. We all may have to face “the oil press” (the meaning of Gethsemane), from time to time, but are we willing to accept whatever the WILL of God is for our lives, no matter what. We see Jesus in His humanity facing the persecution, and the impending death He would face, but we also see Jesus in His divinity, horrified and in agony of soul, at the prospect of becoming SIN for us (See 2 Cor.5:21).
