Matthew 24 Pt.4 – The Abomination of Desolation!

Today we looked at Matthew 24:15-22 which concerns Jesus’ quoting a prophesy made by the prophet Daniel (See Dan.924-27 and Dan.11:35), which refers to a thing standing n the holy place (or temple) that makes ‘desolate’. What could Daniel have been speaking about? What could Jesus have been speaking about? There are many possibilities, but here are the top 5:

1. What Antiochus IV Epiphanes did in 167BC

2. What Emperor Gaius planned to do in AD40-41

3. What the zealots did in AD67/68

4. What the Romans did in AD70

5. A future event to be carried out by the man of lawlessness, the son of destruction (See 2 Thess.2:1-4).
