Matthew 13 Pt.3 – The Wheat and The Tares – Spot The Difference!

In this second parable in this series of seven parables, Jesus also gave His disciples the explanation to it. But before He gave the explanation, privately to His disciples, He told them two more parables (#3 The Parable of The Mustard Seed) and (#4 The Parable of The Leaven) in vv.31-33,  and quotes a reason why speaking in Parables fulfils Prophecy (vv.34-35).

Once again, there is no need to speculate on the meaning of what is behind the Parable of The Wheat and The Tares, as Jesus Himself gave us His explanation. But one thing we should bear in mind is that just because some of the same phrases or words are used in one parable, does not mean automatically that you interpret them the same in each parable. For instance, in The Parable of The Sower, there The Seed is the Message of The Kingdom, whereas in this one, The Seed are The Sons of The Kingdom. Some interesting things about this parable are that Jesus was making a distinction between those who are The Seed (the true believers), and those who are The Weed (the false convert, the fake “Christian”)! Can you spot the difference?
