What way should the “servants” or “Slaves” of Christ be living prior to His return? We know we were once “slaves to sin” but have not been set free. But does that mean that we are “no longer slaves at all”? This also raises the question as to whether or not man is ever completely free, and concerning “free will”! If you’d like to watch the video from today’s church service, just click on this link!...

There were plenty of signs and warnings leading up to the destruction of the temple in AD70, but will there be any sign to prepare for the Second Coming of Christ? Is it possible that NO ONE KNOWS the DAY or the HOUR of that event, not even the angels of heaven, nor The Son, but ONLY the Father? Well, that is what Jesus, in the body of His humiliation said. And yet so many, over the years have tried, unsuccessfully, to calculate the time of the Lord’s Return. Will it come......

Some find this section of Matthew 24 to be quite problematic because in v.34 Jesus said quite plainly, “Truly, I say to you, THIS GENERATION will not pass away UNTIL ALL THESE THINGS take place.” As a result of this, even C.S. Lewis said that this is the most embarrassing verse in the Bible! Now, why would that be? Only because people with traditions have been sold on the idea that everything in Matthew 24 is speaking about future events that will happen before the Lord Returns and the End of the World. Therefore they have had to......

In Matthew 24:29-31 Jesus spoke of things that would happen IMMEDIATELY AFTER the tribulation of THOSE DAYS. And THOSE DAYS that Jesus spoke of were undoubtedly those that would come upon Israel in judgement (See Lk.19:41-44; 21:20-24). The signs that Jesus spoke of in Matt.24:29 probably should not be taken literally, even as they are not taken literally when used elsewhere in the Old Testament, such as in Isa.13:10; 34:4; Ezek.32:7; Joel 2:10 & Amos 8:9. Then in V.30 Jesus spoke of ‘The Sign of The Son of Man’, but doesn’t say what it is. But we know that there were certain SIGNS......

What would happen if there were false Christs and False Prophets running around prior to the events that took place in AD70? They could easily mislead people into thinking that there was another Messiah who would insure victory over the Romans, but which would actually lead to the total destruction of Jerusalem in AD70. When the Legionnaire Cestius Gallus, who was Governor of Syria, decided to quash the Jewish Revolt that began in AD66, he totally failed. This would have given rise to optimism and the belief that the Jewish Revolt was......

Today we looked at Matthew 24:15-22 which concerns Jesus’ quoting a prophesy made by the prophet Daniel (See Dan.924-27 and Dan.11:35), which refers to a thing standing n the holy place (or temple) that makes ‘desolate’. What could Daniel have been speaking about? What could Jesus have been speaking about? There are many possibilities, but here are the top 5: 1. What Antiochus IV Epiphanes did in 167BC 2. What Emperor Gaius planned to do in AD40-41 3. What the zealots did in AD67/68 4. What the Romans did in AD70 5. A future event to be carried out by the......

There would be a lot of obstacles for Christ’s disciples to overcome in the years leading up to the Destruction of The Temple in 70 AD. There were some certain signs that the disciples would see, including being delivered to tribulation, experience martyrdoms, betrayals, hated, lack of love – and yet Jesus assured His disciples that THIS GOSPEL of THE KINGDOM would go out to the WHOLE WORLD! How encouraging this must have been for them. Jesus didn’t promise them a walk in the park, trouble-free, without any opposition. If He had,......

Have the warnings given in Matt.24:4-8 perhaps often been taken out of context as if all have to do with futuristic “End-Time” events? Or could Jesus have been actually answering His disciples question(s) that they asked in v.3? And what was their question relating to? Could it have had something at all to do with what Jesus had said in vv.1-2 concerning The Destruction of The Temple? We think you will see from this passage that all the events were to do with things that would take place between AD33 and AD70, and in particular in relation to the years......
