From Death To Resurrection Life!

It is one thing simply accepting the fact that a man called Jesus of Nazareth lived 2000 years ago and died by crucifixion by the hands of the Romans. But once you start adding to that some other bits of information, such as the reason why He died, and who He said He was, and what He is supposed to have done, you have entered then into another zone: Theology.

When Paul wrote 1 Cor.15:1-8, he wasn’t just giving us a snapshot of a person living 2000 years ago who was known for His teaching and so-called miracles. Paul spoke of Christ as the one fulfilling the scriptures and that He died ‘for our sins‘ according to the Scriptures.

And we saw in the message on Palm Sunday that Jesus had predicted the things that would happen to Him when He and His disciples would go up to Jerusalem (See Matt.16:21; 17:22-23; 20:17-19).

If we focus on Matt.20:17-19 we will see 5 things that Jesus said would happen, and we can follow these in detail to their fulfilment.

But Jesus not only spoke of His betrayal, and being handed over to the religious authorities, and that they would condemn Him to death, but that in turn they would deliver Him over to the Gentiles, and the Gentiles would mock Him, scourge Him, and crucify Him.

But wait, there is more! All that came to pass…would not His final prediction come to pass too? Could Jesus pull-off the greatest “stunt” of all by rising from the dead? That He certainly did, as we see, as we go through A LOT OF SCRIPTURE in this message!
