Evangelism: Equipping & Practicing what we preach

Charles Spurgeon once said, “Have you no wish for others to be saved? Then you’re not saved yourself, be sure of that!”

Now that statement might come as a shock to some, but it should at least cause each of us to consider how we view the unsaved people who are all around us, and what we are doing to reach them with the Gospel.

Having asked many professing to be Born Again Christians the question, “Do you share your faith on a regular basis?” the answer is most often ‘No’.

That’s what Dr. Bill Bright of Campus Crusade For Christ found too. He found that less than 2% of those professing to be Born Again Christians in the United States shared their faith on a regular basis. And I believe the statistics would be the same here in Ireland.

Perhaps we should be asking “Why that is? Well the most common answers to the ‘Why?’ question is, that many have either a fear of rejection or a fear of not knowing what to say, especially if someone asks them a particularly difficult question.
