Ephesians 6 Part 2 – Spiritual Warfare!

“We are at war with an invisible enemy” – Now that might have come from the pen of the apostle Paul, as in Eph.6:12, but this was actually a quote from President Donald Trump in light of the recent Corona Virus Pandemic. It still amazes me that there are people who will say, “I don’t believe in things I can’t see!” And those are most likely people who are going around spreading germs and diseases. Yet if you asked them if germs and disease exist, they’d probably say that they do. Well how would you wrestle with a virus? How would you wrestle against a spiritual, unseen enemy? Conventional weapons are not going to do you much good. Thats why, in this section from Eph.6, Paul tells Christians to make a stand!

However, I think it is very important that Christians don’t just take Scriptures “out of context” the way they usually do! So what I’m saying is, that the one who can make a stand is the one who first knows where he is seated. And then what about that Christian’s walk? Is that not important too?

There will be countless “Christians” claiming the promises of Psalm 91, who quite frankly are holding a two-edged sword which is powerful, and can cause damage and hurt in the hands of one who doesn’t know how to use it properly! Let us follow Christ’s example, and resist the devil – because he will flee when we stand our ground (See James 4:7; 1 Pet.5:8-9).
