Paul continues in this chapter his “focus on the family, on the theme that he had began to write about in Eph.5:22-33, to husbands and wives. In this section he talks to children, parents (fathers), bondslaves and masters (or employers and employees). This is important because, “…whenever there is a breakup of family value, where there is disrespect and disobedience of parents, and authority, that society will not last long” (IVP Commentary on Ephesians). Also, as Dale put it, “Parents should care more about the loyalty of their children to Christ than for anything......

The Outbreak of the COVID 19 Corona Virus has had a major impact on the whole world! Everywhere you go you’ll hear people talking about it, and about their fears, and the uncertainty of the future. Any plans we may have made are basically on hold, possibly for months to come. In this message Ninfa addresses those fears with Scripture head on!...

In this last section of Ephesians 5, Paul talked about the special relationship that exists between a husband and his wife, and points out that this actually is based on the foundation of Gen.2:23-24, and that ultimately it is the best illustration to use for God to show us the special relationship that exists between Christ and His Church. Note vv.25-27, ‘Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not......

In light of having been brought from death to life, from darkness to light, Christians should not be ‘sleepy’ or ‘sleeping’ amongst the dead (Eph.5:14; 2:1-3). But then what? Well we are to be careful how we walk, making the most of every opportunity (Eph.5:15-17) seeking to know what the will of the Lord is. But in addition to this we are ‘Not to be drunk with wine’ (v.18)! The Bible has both positive and negative things to say about wine, but the warning here is against drunkenness with intoxicating drinks. However, we......

We were not just in the dark spiritually, we were in fact “darkness”! That is until the Light of the Glorious Gospel shined into our darkened souls (See 2 Cor.4:5-6). Then God brought us out of the Darkness and into the Light (See Eph.4:17-19; Matt.4:14-17; Acts 26:18; Col.1:13-14; 1 Pet.2:9). There was also a time when the Light of the Gospel had been lost throughout what is called ‘The Dark Ages”, and therefore we have a lot to thank God for since The Reformation in 1517, which gave us the Restoration of the Gospel that......

We aren’t called to be imitation Christians, but we are to ‘Be imitators of God as dear children’ (Eph.5:1). Now there’s a verse that has been taken out of context by those who think they can be God or gods, or be ‘like God’ (See Gen.3:4-5). Why can’t people read the verse in context, starting off with the obvious word, ‘Therefore‘, showing how Eph.5:1 is the continuation from Eph.4:32, where Paul told the believers ‘And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you (See also 2 Cor.5:19-20). But what is all......

In this week’s episode we look at some practical areas that need to change in the new life of a believer. It may come as a bit of a surprise that Paul had to write to Christians to tell them that they need to stop lying, stealing, or continue to have angry outbursts of wrath (which is usually just bad temper), and not to slander (speak evil of) one another. Such things grieve the Holy Spirit of God. Therefore because we have been forgiven, we ought to forgive one another, just as......

This Sunday Eric shared this message on Faith and how various Biblical characters were ‘kept afloat during troubled times’, because of their obedience to God.Here are 3 Points to take away from this sermon: 1) Total Trust in the Written Word of God (2 Cor.5:7). 2) Total Dependance through a lifestyle of prayer and worship (See Matt.6:9-13; Lk.11:1ff). 3) Total Surrender to God’s Will and Purpose (1 Cor.2:9)....

What was our spiritual and mental state before we were regenerated by the Holy Spirit? Paul paints a dismal picture of ‘the rest of the Gentiles’ in Eph.4:17-19, which corresponds with his more lengthy discussion of the state of the whole world, as recorded in Romans 1-3 (See especially Rom.1:18-31). So it is a wonder that anyone at all has been saved out of that mess! Of course, if it was left to each one of us to find our way to Christ and be saved, none of us would have made it! But God broke......
