In part 2 of this Psalm (vv.25-50) we see more evidence that David would have been speaking prophetically of Jesus, since even the Apostle Paul quoted some of these verses (see especially v.49) in Rom.15:9-13. Although the salvation and deliverances that David would have been primarily focusing on were temporal, we can see that his experiences would be a foreshadowing or a type of Christ’s Salvation that was to come. In this Psalm of love and praise to the Lord, David thanks the LORD for delivering and rescuing him from all his enemies and especially from Saul. But David uses either hyperbole or imaginative language to describe how the LORD acts towards him. Not only did David have confidence in the Lord to answer prayer, he also knew that he was saved and would see the Lord’s face one day, when he would awake in His likeness. This was a very interesting end to this chapter. Lets say that there are basically 3 sections to it, starting off with the question or request by some of the scribes and Pharisees, when they asked Jesus to give them “a sign“(v.38). But of course Jesus had been performing signs, wonders and miracles all along.
