Who We Are

WHAT IS LIVING ROCK CHURCH

We are a church that is on a journey. Many of us either were raised in some religious background or none, but soon got introduced to the Bible and how to live by God’s Word in relationship with Christ. Many of us have different views and teachings from the Bible from the churches we came from, and so this makes for a mix of different viewpoints coming together and hopefully agreeing on as much as we can. This has resulted in a kind of mix of Reformed Theology and Charismatic Experience (if that is even possible!)

We have come to believe in The Five Solas, or to translate that into English: The Five Onlys, which are Sola Scriptura, Solus Christus, Sola Gratia, Soli Fedi, and Soli Deo Gloria. We welcome you to come and see what we are about and join us on Sunday from 11am. You can also contact us if you have any questions.

OUR MISSION

The Mission of the church is to bring the message of Christ to the world . We want to do our part by reaching out to those who are lost, with the Gospel and providing a safe, solid, Spirit-filled home, where those who have believed can be built-up, equipped, and sent out to reach others for Christ.

OUR VISION

We fulfil our Mission by being faithful to our vision of reaching out in evangelism, home Bible Study groups, hosting special events that will help us engage with those who are lost in this world.

OUR CHURCH

Michael Robson

PASTOR

Michael Robson was born and raised in Bangor, Co. Down. After graduating from Mattersey Hall, the Assemblies of God Bible College (1995-1998) he along with his wife Ninfa and family moved to Killarney to begin Living Rock Church.

History of Living Rock Church

Living Rock began in September of 1998, a few months after Michael, Ninfa, Ashley and Hannah came to Killarney (on the 8th July, and only weeks after Hannah was born). Michael and Ninfa were married in 1993 and stayed a year in the Philippines doing “Missionary work”. Returning home, Michael attended Mattersey Hall (Assemblies of God Bible College)  in the UK from 1995-1998. After graduating with a B.A. Honours in Biblical Theology, Michael with Ninfa and the family made their home in Killarney, Co. Kerry. They have since that time added a third member to their family, Steven.

The meetings first started on Sunday nights in the Cultural Centre, then on to various hotels (Killarney Court, Killarney Heights), and then on to the Spa GAA Clubhouse. Our last meeting place was at ‘The Rock’, on Tralee Road, right next to the Killarney Court Hotel, but now we meet at The Mon School on Sunday Mornings at 11AM and on Wednesday nights at 7:30PM for Bible Studies.

OUR VALUES

We believe the Bible to be the God-breathed,God-inspired, Word of God. Therefore, we believe the Word of God to be relevant in today’s world,

speaking to us concerning all things to do with life and godliness. For our full Statement of Faith, please see the relevant section.

On the 7th of January 2024 we added Eddie Manley as an elder in the church, who along with his wife Nicky, have been serving Christ since the time of their coming to Christ in the early 90’s. Both Edd and Nicky have been involved with children’s ministry and evangelism and preaching over the years! Their desire is to see people come to faith and grow as disciples, and discover their gifts and use them for the benefit of the local church and to reach the unsaved.
